Following partial hospitalization, an intensive outpatient program (IOP) provides continuing care services for those in recovery from substance use disorders. As a form of outpatient treatment, IOP services offer extra support as guests work on their recovery goals both in and outside of a rehabilitation center.
Compared to programs that offer higher levels of care, an IOP program requires the least amount of attendance within a facility setting. For this reason, intensive outpatient benefits people who already have a strong foundation of healthy skills and routines in recovery. As you spend more time reintegrating back into daily life, IOP extends your access to clinical services and peer support to help you maintain long-term recovery during and after intensive outpatient.
An intensive outpatient program (IOP) is a form of addiction treatment that is an option for those who do not need residential treatment but may still need 24/7 care. IOP treatment helps individuals struggling with drug and alcohol use disorders to overcome their addiction. Each program meets the specific needs of each person. During an IOP, individuals receive regular treatments such as individual therapy, group therapy, medication management, and skills training that equip them to build more constructive behaviors and habits. For instance, group sessions emphasize job readiness, life skills, and relapse management training to help you maintain long-term recovery in intensive outpatient.
Additionally, IOPs also offer educational opportunities to learn about the causes and complications of substance use and abuse. Participants can expect to have an experienced clinical staff working with them through every step of their recovery journey, providing extensive support and guidance while they work toward sobriety and a healthier lifestyle.

I walked through those doors only focused on detox. I ended up staying 30 days, because of my roommate, staff and the vibe. Ty SCBH, for giving me my life back. I was drowning and you pulled me out the deep end. The staff was so empathetic and understanding. If you are struggling... go, learn and learn. What I've been given back is priceless. Check em out!Posted on Google![]()

South Coast is a wonderful place for any addict who needs help with their addiction. I had been in addiction for over 15 years and finally found my recovery solution with this facility. It was clean and very friendly. All of the facility, medical, and nursing staff were amazing and honestly listen to you. The groups were and people were so welcoming and informative about addiction and made me feel as though I wasn't an outcast for being an addict. I want to thank South Coast for being so gracious and caring to my addiction needs. If you are needing help with your addiction this is the place where you can find freedom from your disease of addiction and live happily in life. IOP may be appropriate for people who have a foundation for recovery and are ready for a less restrictive setting than residential care, while still benefiting from consistent treatment and accountability.
A clinical assessment can help determine whether IOP is an appropriate fit.
